This is about the signs we believe have the power to lead us to the "right path", presented in many cultures. The work tests these "signs", represented  by an "apacheta" (stones laying on top of each other, showing the right path to follow in the desert). One ice stone, when melted, will destabilize the conviction of the direction indicated by the sign.
